13:00-16:30Theme: Interoperability and open data
2010 and 2011 have been the years where data finally came out of the silos as increasing demand for data as raw
material became apparent. With raw data as the new web, the need has arisen for catalogs describing the quality
and context of data, exposing the semantics of data, and linking to referencing master data.
13:00-13:30Semantics, open data and interoperability, Rune Gløersen, Director of ICT, Statistics Norway
13:30-14:00The Digital Agenda for Europe and Open Data in the Cultural Sector: Improving the Access to and use of Cultural Material, Yvo Volman, PhD, European Commission

Thursday June 9th

08:30-11:30Parallel project sessions
Diving deeper into open data, interoperability and compliance issues, each sector has their own approach and special solutions.
In this session we break up into parallel sessions where each track focuses on challenges and solutions in their sector.
Public sector - Information management, legal issues and data & information quality.
Industry - Integrated Operations in the High North (IOHN). Organized by participants in the IOHN project, but open for all those interested. This session will focus on the application of Semantic Models. Experiences from the IOHN project will be presented. The session includes the following talks:
- Short overview of IOHN and introduction of the theme by Frédéric Verhelst (project manager IOHN, DNV, Norway)
- Reservoir and Production use case and the need for a Semantic model by NN (Siemens or Epsis)
- Semantic model for sand production and erosion - An ISO 15926 Use Case by Johan Wilhelm Klüwer (DNV, Norway)
- Validity checking of the Semantic model - why and how by Martin Giese (University of Oslo, Norway)
Research - Open data and Linked Open Data. Organized by Dumitru Roman, SINTEF, Norway. This session will focus on research and technical aspects of Open Data and Linked Open Data. The target audience for this session includes (but is not limited to) researchers, engineers, and students. The session includes four invited talks:
- The Datalift Project: Ontologies, Datasets, Tools and Methodologies to Publish and Interlink Datasets by François Scharffe (University of Montpellier, France)
- An Overview of Norwegian Linked Open Data by David Norheim (Computas AS, Norway) and Dumitru Roman (SINTEF, Norway)
- How to maintain the primary nature of public sector data: A first foray by Audun Stolpe (University of Oslo, Norway)
- From Linked Data to Linked Rules by Harold Boley (Institute for Information Technology, National Research Council; Faculty of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick, Canada)
Library, Archives and Museums - authoritative registries for linked content - places, people, events, topics
11:30-12:30Lunch
12:30-13:00Keynote, "The Information Based Opportunity", Morten Thorkildsen, Chief Executive Officer, IBM Norway
13:00-13:30Keynote, TBA
13:30-16:30Theme: Information Quality and Compliance
Compliance is the the act of adhering to, and demonstrating adherence to, a standard or regulation. How can the expressiveness
and explicitness that semantic technologies gives, help in achieving this?
13:30-14:00"Event Processing", W. Roy Schulte, VP Distinguished Analyst, Gartner Group
14:00-14:30"Information and Data Quality", Trine Hansen, Principle Advisor, DNV and Tor Arne Irgens, CMDR SG T, Norwegian Defence
14:30-15:00Break
