Geometry templates – worked example

It is an Express model with no connections to ISO 15926 part 2. The translation to ISO 15926 part 4 is done in this spreadsheet <link> which content is loaded into the Core Library.

The chosen example to work is the SOLID SPHERE

Modeled in Part 2 methods a functional physical object (a specific object in a 3D model that isn’t some plant item but part in an assembly representing it) classified as a solid sphere would be this:

Description:

The object (#Sph) is classified as (solid sphere).

This is a whole-life classification. The whole-life object (#Sph) has a whole-life start time but that hasn’t been worked-out.

Because the (solid sphere) class is subclass of (object with radius) and (object with reference point) it inherits those (other relationships), which are worked as example.

Object (#Sph) has a temporal part (#Sph-20080922T10:00) which has an information start time. The (other relationship) links it to the (radius) class. An instance of (property) is classified by (radius). The rest is a standard network of representing the property with a number and unit of measurement. This requires a (number space) for the (real number), which is set to (0, infinity).

Object (#Sph) has another temporal part (#Sph-20080922T10:01) which has an information start time. The metric space point is translated to a (multidimensional number) classified by a (multidimensional number space), which is the Part 2 method of making a point in a coordinate system. The multidimensional number has 3 elements, the X, Y and Z coordinate. The rest is a standard network of representing the property with a number and unit of measurement.
