11.30 Implementations of ISO 15926

I think OWL (and XML in general) is good for exchange, I am not convinced it is the best environment for reasoning for the large regular data sets we tend to have in the Oil and Gas Industry. I suspect that SQL and Category Theoretic approaches to logic may be more productive and give better performance. That is not to say that traditional Description Logic tools do not have their place, but one needs to understand what that is. This means we need to start by looking at the sorts of reasoning we want to be able to do (use cases) and look at how this would be done with different approaches.

Mattew West, Information Logic

16.30 Semantic technology and 15926: Outline of an Introductory Course

An introductory course in semantic technology and 15926 is currently being developed by the POSC Caesar Association (PCA). In order to be flexible with respect to length and intended audience, the course will consist of several, more or less independent, modules. We present a brief outline of the course, its contents, purpose, and intended use.

Henrik Forsell, PCA

16.40   Summing up

Thore Langeland, OLF
